Paid-up capital is not a fee

The legal minimum is RM1. This money belongs to your company and stays in its bank account. Some licences, work permits and banks expect a higher amount, so we'll suggest a sensible figure for your plans.

Other costs you may meet

  • Business premises licence from your local council, if you trade from a shop or office.
  • Industry licences, for example for food, trading, travel or construction.
  • Bank account: no fee to open, but some banks ask for a minimum first deposit.
